Monograms are a great way to personalize your wedding. It’s something to make your wedding uniquely yours. But how do you find the perfect one? Apart from all the things you must prepare for your special day, choosing a monogram can add to the anxiety. The huge amount of inspiration you can find on the internet and social media does not help either. To help you decide, we’ve compiled a list of things you need to consider when selecting a wedding monogram:
Decide whether you want just your initials or your full name.
If you want to place your monogram on a few of your wedding accessories, you might want to choose something that’s short as having your full names written everywhere might just be a little too much.
If your initials spell something unfortunate or funny (like OMG, LOL, etc. It happens!) Making a monogram out of your first names is ideal.
Do you want it simple or embellished?
Aside from your names or initials, you can add other ornamental flair to your monogram. Hearts and flourishes are pretty popular. Choose one that represents your personality or something that is close to your heart. A couple who loves to travel can choose an airplane to go with their names, or someone who met at a music festival can add musical notes to their initials. The possibilities are endless!
Do you want them printed on other things aside from your invitation?
Monograms are cool but they can be overdone when placed on practically everything you have in your wedding. Just put them in places where they can add a touch of character. If you’re unsure about this, you can ask you stylist. They’ll know what to do.
There are a number of ways you can style your monogram. You can have them foiled, letterpressed, waxed, flat-printed, stamped, or embossed. If you have a design in mind, let’s talk. We can’t wait to work with you!
